When you apply using e-Tenkyo, it is necessary to confirm with the residents of both the old and new addresses that a move has taken place. Therefore, the consent of both the applicant and all persons moving is required.
Based on this consent, Japan Post staff may visit the old or new address and, as necessary, communicate the change-of-address information to the residents.
If you do not agree to have the change-of-address information communicated to the residents of the old or new address, please submit a paper change-of-address form at the post office counter.
[About applying at the counter]
- For counter procedures, in addition to the person submitting the form, identity verification is conducted for one of the persons moving.
- Please bring an identity verification document such as a driver’s license or health insurance certificate to your nearest post office counter.
- If the person submitting the form and the person moving are different, a copy of the identity verification document for the person moving is acceptable.
